Does it mean anything to you that He gave His life for YOU?

"God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ".

At Christmas, everyone celebrates the birth of Jesus. He is thought of as a little baby in a manger, which He was. But He came to earth for a reason. He came to earth to die. To die and pay the penalty for your sins so you would never have to pay that penalty. He lived just 33 years.

Easter is the time He was crucified and rose from the dead. Easter is known to Christians as "Resurrection Sunday", the day He proved He alone has the power over life and death and that He truly was who He claimed to be.... God. Do you believe it or do you think it's all a hoax?

Let's talk about it.

WHO WAS HE?

Let's make it simple. He is the one who created everything. The world, electricity, and YOU. Is this hard for you to understand? You don't know everything about how electricity works but you believe in it and you work with it everyday. In the same way by faith, you can accept this truth. That He created you, and He wants you to know that He loves you and wants you to get to know Him. He worked as a tradesman just like you, only as a Carpenter. But He didn't come here to work, He came to die. He said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." No other person in the world has ever made that claim. Often times, He is thought of as having been murdered, but He said, "No one takes my life from me. I give my life of my own free will. I have the authority to give my life, and I have the authority to take my life back again." And on Easter, thats what He did.

WHY DID HE DO IT?

Is there anyone in your life that you would die for? Your wife, your kids, your parents, maybe some of you would even give your life for a total stranger. Why would you do it? As God, He could not die, so He became a man in order to die. On the cross, He accepted the sins of man against Himself. As a perfectly innocent man, He accepted the penalty that you owe. If only you would choose to accept that free gift. Like any gift, you have the choice to receive (believe) or reject (not believe) the gift. He died not only to save you from a very real and eternal hell, a place where no man in His right mind would ever want to spend eternity, but also to help you in THIS life. To help you with the many problems every man struggles with. Personal, family, work, health, financial, whatever your need is, He is ready to meet you there. But He will never do it without your invitation. He says, "I stand at the door of your heart and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in".

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HIM? DO YOU NEED HIM?

Take a look at the picture. I'll ask you again. Is it a small thing that this Jesus was beaten, tortured and crucified for YOU? He endured ALL of this for you? You say you don't understand that kind of love? You don't understand the meaning of it all? This is what Christmas and Easter are really all about. This is God's gift to you: That He so loved you that he gave His one and only Son, that if you would only believe in Him you will never perish but have eternal life.

READY TO MAKE A DECISION?

You can either accept or reject His gift for you, and you may never have a moment like this again. No man has any guarantee of another day of life. To do nothing is the same as rejecting Him..... right?

Knowing Jesus is simply acknowledging your need for Him (believing in Him), being sorry for your sins and being willing to turn from your sins (repentance), and believing what He did for you on the cross was sufficiant to wipe away your sin past, present, and future (faith). In return, He gives you a fresh start. He longs to help you in your life, and this is the first step on that journey.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!"

If Jesus is calling you, and you are ready to answer, just talk to Him!

Jesus, I acknowledge that I have sinned and am in need of a Savior. I believe that when you went to the Cross, you went there for me and all my sins. I trust YOU ALONE to save me right now and with your help, I am willing to turn from my sin. I give you my life and everything in it. And now at this very moment, I believe by faith I’m saved and that You have forgiven me. Help me to understand who you are and what it means to live for you every day. Please guide me in the way that I should go from this day forward. Amen!
